Overview
Excision of a penile adhesion is a minimally invasive procedure. An adhesion within penile tissue can occur due to a prior circumcision, tight foreskin, and/or inflammation of penile tissue. Penile adhesion can correct by itself without a surgical procedure. Excision of adhesive tissue can lead to cosmetic and functional improvement.
How to prepare for the procedure
Excision/lysis of penile adhesion is performed under a form of anesthesia. When preparing to have a procedure performed under anesthesia you can expect to start fasting the night prior to your procedure. Please consult with your surgeon to discuss the pre-operative testing which may include; blood work, chest x-ray, EKG, discontinuation of medications, and clearance for other medical reasons. The procedure will be done at the hospital or outpatient surgery center.
