Overview
Spermatocelectomy is an outpatient procedure. An incision is made on the scrotum to remove the spermatocele(s). Spermatoceles are cyst like masses filled with dead sperm cells and fluid.
How to prepare for the procedure
Spermatocelectomy is performed under anesthesia. You can expect to start fasting the night prior to your procedure. The pre-operative testing may be necessary which may include; blood work, chest x-ray, EKG, discontinuation of medications, and clearance for other medical reasons. The procedure will be done at either the hospital or an outpatient surgery center.
